He’s with me (Deuteronomy 20:3-4)

(Verses chosen from today’s Bible reading – Deuteronomy 19-21 & Galatians 3)

“Hear, O Israel, today you are going into battle against your enemies.  Do not be fainthearted or afraid; do not be terrified or give way to panic before them.  For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight against your enemies to give you victory.”  Deuteronomy 20:3-4

What lessons are there for me in this Scripture?

What great assurance there is to have God with me.  There is no fear when His Way is the way I’m on.

O how important it is for me to be certain I am where He wants me to be.  I absolutely must seek His guidance step by step.  There cannot be periods of independence.  There cannot be solo efforts.  Godless steps are missteps.

I must stay in His Word via reading, studying, and memorizing.  I must pray without ceasing.  All this to assure that I am where He wants me to be.

Once I reach that condition I can absolutely have confidence that what happens next will be part of His perfect plan for me.  How joyful that will make the journey ahead.
