Seek Him

“Why were you searching for me?”  Luke 2:49

(Verse chosen from today’s Bible reading – Ezekiel 47-48 & Luke 2)

Jesus asks this question to His parents.

My segue is that I need to be sure that I am seeking Him.

God has everything that I need.  There’s not one additional, independent-of-Him necessity.

Yet why do I pursue counterfeit gods?  Why am I more turned on by godless interests than I am of seeking Him?

I’m not calling here for a head-buried-in-the-Bible lifestyle.  There’s too much of God’s creation around me to be ignored!

The call is to get my heart completely tuned to Him and then move from there as He leads me.

I am more and more convinced that getting the heart “right” is an ongoing thing.  I seem to get caught so often losing ground in my relationship to Him.  Things fall apart spiritually and I foolishly wonder why I didn’t see it coming.  It’s the heart, man!

“Lord, I want a solid relationship with You every second.  Forgive me for going places without being conscious of You.  Help me to keep myself in a relationship with You that makes Your Way clear to me.”
