“’Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death is your sting?’ The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15:55-57.
Verses chosen from today’s Bible reading: Judges 8, Psalm 42, and 1 Corinthians 15.
Folks who worry about death view themselves as unforgiven sinners.
They have not heard/understood the Gospel.
When Jesus died and rose against He took away the power of sin and death forever.
An unforgiven sinner imagines the consequences of their sin in the next life. They aren’t sure that they have “done” enough to have “earned” heaven. That’s worrisome, don’t you think?
The Good News is that Jesus died for our sins. Those sins will no longer keep us from an after-life with God.
More Good News: God raised Jesus from the dead. Death is no longer eternal. As Jesus was given a new body and joined with the Father, so too will we.
That’s the Good News!
“Lord, I thank You for what You have done for me. It is pure grace, nothing else. Forgive me for trying to sort things out on my terms. I need Your Presence every second. I love You, Lord!”
Listen to the Good News: Jesus died, rose from the dead, and will some day take us to be with Him.
