“There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God.” Psalm 46:4.
Verse chosen from today’s Bible reading: 2 Kings 17, 2 Chronicles 28, Psalm 46, and James 3.
God takes care of His own.
He supplies us with what we need. Not what we THINK we need but what we actually need.
The consistency of God is remarkable. He loves us despite our inconsistencies. How often we fail Him!
The accounts I read today in 2 Kings and 2 Chronicles are flooded with evil behavior by Israel and the consequences their behavior brought on. Their chase of counterfeit gods led to tragic results.
Am I glad to have God in my life? Do I sense how often I badly represent Him in my midst? How can I ever think that I am pleasing Him by my feeble efforts? Yet He does love me.
Israel got in trouble with God because they deliberately chose to do what He specifically told them not to do. I set myself up for the same consequences if I intentionally disobey Him. If I fail however, but not from godless intention, God still loves me. He knows my capabilities as well as my heart. I do not want to displease Him. I want to be doing what He wants me doing.
“Lord, I thank You for Your blessings to me. I am unworthy. Forgive me for messing things up in my midst. Help me to please You consistently. Prick my conscience when I am astray so that I can repent and be restored. I love You, Father.”
Are you in His flow?
