“You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans?” 1 Corinthians 3:3.
Verse chosen from today’s Bible reading: Job 33, and 1 Corinthians 1-3.
I can tell you one thing but you could well believe another.
I can tell you that I am a committed believer but my actions could well suggest otherwise.
Those who are closest to us know us best. We may be able to fool outsiders but not those regularly in our midst, like family.
Today’s verse references indicators such as jealousy and quarreling. If those things are going on in our lives, then we have abandoned God’s control. We’re doing our own sinful thing.
I am troubled when I quarrel with the ones I love. I don’t want to go there but sometimes it happens. As the words are flowing I’m already regretting it and after the “dust” has settled I am sure that I made a big mistake. It’s time then for the “sorry’s” and hopefully a restoration of a relationship.
I am convinced, and have said it often in this blog, that my biggest issue is reacting badly to things. I do not have in place the ability to pause and react. I just react and down the slippery slope I plunge.
I am so certain that I need to be 24/7 with God. I reach a comfort zone and then something comes along to trigger a godless reaction. My walk with Him must be never-ending.
“Lord, I need You every second. I need You in the good times. Forgive me for separating from You. I love You, Lord.
Are you still jealous and quarrelsome?
