“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2.
Verse chosen from today’s Bible reading: Romans 9-12.
“The world is not my home, I’m just a’passing through.”
The world has its godless ways. God’s ways are different.
How easily we get drawn into the world’s godlessness. It’s comfortable because “everyone” is doing it.
We must have the capacity to see, and react to, godlessness. How do we do that? Our lives must be controlled by God. We do this intentionally. When the day unfolds we are tuned in to what is going on around us from God’s perspective.
I am encouraged when I feel uncomfortable in godless situations. I sense that God is part of my life. I sense that I am seeing right and wrong better. I want to feel uncomfortable in those situations.
Being filled with the Holy Spirit is essential. How much of me am I allowing the Holy Spirit to be in? Do I still do things independently of the Holy Spirit? I need to have that “still, small voice” hollering instructions as my day unfolds. God must be all over me!
“Lord, what You want and what I’m delivering are out of synch. Take me over. Cleanse me from my worldliness. Enable me to see, and react to, wrong in my midst. Keep me from succumbing to the ways practiced in evil places. Empower me to be Your light in dark places. I love You, Father.”
How worldly are you?
