Limiting God

“And now you will be silent and not able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true at their appointed time.”  Luke 1:20.

Verse chosen from today’s Bible reading: Genesis 1-2, and Luke 1.

Zechariah wouldn’t take Gabriel’s word for it.

Gabriel had explained what was going to happen but Zechariah’s lack of faith turned into an obstacle.

However, in God’s scheme, when things are going to happen they will happen.

God saw to it that Zechariah could not express his doubts to any in his midst.

Is it a stretch to think that God has more for us to do but we limit Him by our lack of faith?  I suspect that it is a certainty!

I believe that my approach to God limits Him.  I do not have a clear sense of what God can do.  Of His promises.

I need to pray with certainty.  If I am asking for something that He has promised, then I can expect that it will happen.  I often pray Unexpecting.  I just go through the motions of prayer.  That needs to change.

“Lord, help me to get a better handle to Who You are and what You are willing to do.  Forgive me for limiting You by my lack of faith.  I love You, Lord.”

If we understood prayer better we would be better at it.
