“The Lord said to Moses, ‘Speak to the Levites and say to them:’” Numbers 18:25-26.
“Then Jesus said, ‘Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.’” Mark 4:9.
Verses chosen from today’s Bible reading: Number 17-18, Psalm 29, and Mark 4.
We are being told things. Are we tuned in enough to God to hear?
It is so lazy of us to suggest that we don’t know what God wants us to do. He gives us all sorts of examples of what we should do. We are just not hearing and applying them to our own circumstances.
It is a God-given gift to understand what God wants us to do. Many don’t understand. Why? They have not put themselves under His control. If I’m running the show, then there is no room for His input.
“If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” This John 15:7 verse is so clear in explaining what a Godly life requires and where a Godly life leads.
Part of that leading is putting ourselves under His control. Why? Because under His control we will understand what He wants us to do. He will enable us to figure it out. Sometimes He will do all the heavy lifting. Sometimes He will direct us into action to reach His end. Is this clear?
“Lord, I want Your Way to be my way. Help me to clear away the debris that fogs up my awareness of what You want me doing or not doing. I crave Your direction. I thank You for Your insights. I love You, Father.”
What is keeping You from hearing from God? He is telling us things.
