“If anyone causes one of these little ones – those who believe in me – to stumble, it would be better for them if a large millstone were hung around their neck and they were thrown into the sea.” Mark 9:42.
Verse chosen from today’s Bible reading: Numbers 30-31, and Mark 9.
A minister said last Sunday that when consider extending a relationship, we must decide if the other person will lead us toward Jesus or away from Him.
The Words of Jesus are strong in today’s verse. He has no use for anyone who messes up someone’s relationship to Him.
We need to take the words personally rather than apply them to others. Am I a person who is a positive spiritual influence? What would my wife/family say about my influence?
I want to draw believers closer to Him. How to do that? I must be in full fellowship with God. What comes from me after that will please Him.
It is a mistake to try to manage others on our own. We may be skilled at it but without God we’ll get it wrong. Well-intentioned is not enough.
“Lord, I love You. Enable me to be a Godly influence wherever I am but especially when I’m among believers. Forgive me for going it alone. That will never end well. Guide me, O thou great Jehovah.”
God has no use for us if we misrepresent Him.
