“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy?” Isaiah 55:1-2.
Verses chosen from today’s Bible reading: Isaiah 53-56, and 2 Peter 2.
God is calling you.
Are you in bad shape? Is what you have not enough to satisfy you?
Some of the neediest folks have much in the eyes of the rest of us but they are needy and maybe only they know it clearly.
God’s appeal is to the needy. Why? They have reached the point where they are searching for alternatives to what they have been doing. They understand their need for a change. And God promises to satisfy their needs.
God’s way of supplying needs is confusing to many. Why? God’s way is giving what we really need. That may well NOT be what we think we need.
But to survey the bigger picture, God certainly knows better what you/I need. Why would we want anything more or less?
“Lord, I am needy. Forgive me for thinking that I can rightly supply my own needs. I can’t get that right. I need Your Ways to be my ways. Take me over entirely. Manage my thoughts. I yield to You. Glory to You, Father.”
Until I recognize my neediness I will keep wasting my life on what I want to do. God knows best. I must beseech Him to tell me.
