Hanging on for dear life!

“yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.”  Habakkuk 3:18.

Verse chosen from today’s Bible reading: Habakkuk 1-3, and John 8.

Who needs to know what the verses before today’s verses say, you get the idea.

If I am missing this, and missing that, it will not make a difference. My life is filled with God, so I can act in that truth.

Easily said, how about in practice?  My wife is having surgery tomorrow.  It isn’t hard to visualize a bad result BUT I know that God is in charge and so does she.  Does that totally comfort and relax us?  No!  We have fears.  Our Godly task is to allow our awareness of His presence to override the doubts.  Pray for us, please.

God is so amazing.  How often we think of Him in our own terms.  We easily lose track of what He does for us minute by minute.  I have food, clothing, health, and family.  Others don’t.

We were at a yard sale on Friday and got into a house that was appalling.  It was rundown, dirty, dark, and some folks had called it home.  How could they live there?  There but for the grace of God is where we could also be living BUT GOD for no good reason has spared us.  We don’t deserve it but He has made our lives so comparatively easy.  We should be rejoicing our brains out, shouldn’t we!  Yet we whine over minor inconveniences as if they were life-threatening.  Lord, spare us from the wrath we deserve.

“Lord, we are truly needy.  We clearly need to realize how much You have blessed us.  We deserve zip, yet You flood us with good things.  Enable me to see/hear You in my midst and rejoice accordingly.  I commit to You.  Run my life, I beg.”

Will you stop and think briefly about all the things God has blessed you with in the space you are currently sitting/standing?  They sure add up, don’t they!
