“Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience to him.” Psalm 128:1.
Verse chosen from today’s Bible reading: Ezekiel 40-41, Psalm 128, and Revelation 21.
Let’s make sure we get this “fear” thing right. It is the recognition of the awesomeness of God. We are speechless at how amazing He is.
It may be that He has done a special thing in our lives. It may be that we see a piece of His creation and the grandeur of it overwhelms us.
It is an awareness that God is beyond special and that we are permitted a relationship with Him.
We surely do not want to mess up a relationship to Someone as remarkable, so we “fear” doing what will impair our connection.
Because of our “fear” of Him, we are all-in attempting to do what He wants.
And what will be the result? We are blessed! I need to say right now; that doesn’t mean that our lives will be smooth thereafter by the world’s standard of “smooth.” No, we are blessed because God is with us.
“Lord, excellent guidelines for how I should live. Help me, I beg, to live that way. You deserve my awe of You and You deserve my obedience. Thank You, for being You. I love You, Father.”
The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. Obeying Him would be the followup.
