“His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.” 2 Peter 1:3.
Verse chosen from today’s Bible reading; 2 Peter 1-3, and John 1.
I have what I need to live for God.
If I am not living for God, it isn’t because I am not equipped to do so.
What has happened is that I am misusing or not using what God has given me.
If I am not paying attention to God, I am destined to flounder. And it happens way too often!
How easy it is to reach for counterfeit gods and get absorbed in them. I am not talking about living in a monastery. My ultimate passion must be to do what God wants me to do. I must find out what His Will is and pursue it with all my heart.
Wherever God now has me is the place where I can serve Him with all my heart. I can’t believe that better circumstances will enable me to serve Him better. I must serve him in the muck and mire as well as I serve Him under a church spire.
Who owns my heart? Whose lead do I follow? If God is the answer, then I must live as a fully equipped, Godly person knowing that I have the capacity to do what He wants.
“Lord, forgive me for trying to serve You without being fully committed to You. It won’t work that way. Attached to You I have everything I need to please You. Take every part of me over now. I love You, Lord.”
I don’t lack anything if I want to serve Him. Enough with the excuses.
