How big are the things I fear?

“We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.”  Numbers 13:35.

Verse chosen from today’s Bible reading; Numbers 12-13, Psalm 90, and Mark 2.

Caleb and Joshua saw possibilities.  The rest of the exploration team saw size.

We fear things because WE give them size.  We determine their largeness.

We are all different. Some of us fear heights. Others are keen on bungee jumping!

Any of my fears are a connection to my relationship to God.  If I trust God, then my fears will reflect that.  There were large folks in the Promised Land.  BUT Caleb/Joshua saw God against the large folks and realized that the large folks didn’t stand a chance.

The things that we finalize as fearful have gotten there because we are seeing them with our own eyes not God’s eyes.

My trust in God is easily reviewed by examining what I am fearful of.  Those are the “loose ends” that need to be relegated to manageable by my trust in Him.

“Lord, forgive me for not trusting You in some areas of my life.  My concerns are not overpowering to You, why should they be to me?  Open me up to Your presence.  You’re here with me…….whom shall I fear?”

God is not fearful, so why should I be?
