“Contend, Lord, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me. Take up shield and armor; arise and come to my aid. Brandish spear and javelin against those who pursue me. Say to me, ‘I am your salvation.’” Psalm 35:1-3.
Life is an ongoing battle against Satan.
The more aware I am that there is a battle going on, the more I realize my inability to fight alone.
Sadly, I often take on the Adversary alone…….and lose!
There are two paths to choose from; one is with God and the other is with the Adversary.
Frequently, I am going the Adversary’s way and don’t even realize it. I see things as minor and concede them to my own devices. Therein is my problem: There is nothing minor. In everything I’m pleasing God or the Adversary.
The Adversary encourages me to handle things on my own (apart from God). He knows that when I’m apart from God’s influence I am under his. I, too often, forget that.
I need ask God “contend” for me in everything.
I return again and again to this thought: I need God in EVERYTHING. I cannot go it alone. I need Him involved in every second of my life.
Conclusion: I must seek His Help.
