There is a point of no return

“You came back and wept before the Lord, but he paid no attention to your weeping and turned a deaf ear to you.”  Deuteronomy 1:45.

Verse chosen from today’s Bible reading; Deuteronomy 1-2 and Mark 12.

Moses is reviewing the attempt by the Israelites to go it alone into the Promised Land.

The Israelites were wiped out and then they came back to God all sorry about it.  God ignored them.

There are points of no return with God.  These folks discovered one.  King Saul was another one.  He displeased God and God left him to his own devices.

When we stand before God on Judgment Day there will not be time for do-over’s.  We will have had our opportunity to be right with Him.  The final horn will blow, and we will face Him.

So many in this world live under the delusion that they can sort “life-after” things later.  They are fools!

We do not know when the end will come for us.  It could be today.

Because of our uncertainty of the time, we must be ready to meet Him NOW.

We must recognize ourselves as sinners, worthy of eternal separation from God.  We must be upset by our sins.  We must believe that Jesus took the penalty for us for the sins we’ve committed. We must love God for what He did for us and vow to serve Him the rest of our lives.

This is the Gospel and the problem with it is that it is tooooo good to be true in the minds of many.  They want to do something to earn Heaven.  God has already DONE what needs to be done.

Recognize your condition (sinner worthy of eternal separation from God), ask for His forgiveness, accept what Jesus did to cleanse your sin record, and invite Him to take every part of your life over. Don’t wait a second longer.

“Lord, many have no tomorrow.  Open their hearts to You NOW, I beg.  Fill them with You.  I love You, Lord.”

Have you settled the life-after things yet?
