“The Lord had said to Abram, “Go…” Genesis 12:1.
“So Abram went, as the Lord had told him…” Genesis 12:4.
Verses chosen from today’s Bible reading: Genesis 12-14 & Luke 5.
Do you want the Lord’s blessing? Of course, you do! Then do what He wants you to do.
Abram is the perfect role model in this regard. He was willing to go where God wanted him to go even though he didn’t know where that would be.
I want God’s blessing on my life but am I willing to give Him complete control of my life.
If I choose to control certain things, “Lord, I’ll do anything BUT,” He is not in control and His blessings will escape me.
I must be clear that His blessing may not always mean I’ll live as I will in heaven. Things may get tough. I may suffer losses. I may experience illnesses. The beauty, however, is that God Himself will be in those details. I am not functioning on my own.
I must be willing to totally surrender everything to Him. Anything less is not enough.
“Lord, take me over. Take over every part of my life. I give everything to You. Take over my time. Take over my activities. Forgive me for attempting to orchestrate my own life and then wondering why I don’t have peace about it. Anything outside of Your control is folly for me. I have You within me. Help me to live in that Presence. O Father, I love You!”
Will you surrender everything to Him? Less than that leads to frustration.
